A standard CAT A refurbishment is extensive back to base build fit-out of a commercial building

It can be known as the ‘empty shell’ phase as it includes essential works and construction and sets the basis for the aesthetic, function, and usability of the building.

CAT A projects can include anything from exposed ceilings to a brand new Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) systems, raised access floors to external windows, structural elements and roof replacement to decorative finishes.

As we have grown our range of services, we have added our own in-house M&E department so that we can offer our refurbishment clients a turn-key solution.

A key consideration in modern refurbishment projects is, of course sustainability. We are both well equipped and experienced to advise on and deliver solutions which will make your building more sustainable. From introducing electric vehicle charging points to energy efficient M&E systems, bicycle parking and more.

Paramount was principal contractor for the CAT A refurbishment works of the 65,000 sqft Fusion Point One project and also the £9M project at Hodge House in Cardiff. Both schemes were successfully refurbished and have since been awarded Wales Property Awards for Workplace Design and Refurbishment of the Year.

Hodge House
Working with Paramount was really positive, they really understood the vision and the concept that we were trying to achieve with the building and they supported us to achieve that through the construction period. Paramount were really collaborative and they were very much a part of the design team and that was the part of working with them that I valued the most
