The Bay Cafe Design, Fit Out & Furniture

We were commissioned to design and fit-out the empty shell and transform it into a working café. The theme was to be influenced by its beachfront location but with a retro and welcoming feel. However, the client was very clear that they didn’t want this to be a kitsch art deco style seaside café.

At Paramount, we had designed plenty of staff restaurants and canteens in our time, but this was the first commercial café we’d been asked to fit out. The major challenge was the 8-week timeframe from design to handover. But we are very proud of the fact that we successfully met the tight deadline!

Optimising space

Since this was a public access space, we needed to carefully consider the flow of people and allow clear movement for visitors. To be in line with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 we also needed to take into consideration the use of disabled visitors so that they had easy access to all areas.

Project Duration: 8 weeks
Contract Value: Undisclosed
Floor Area: 420 m2

We were looking to achieve a vibrant, modern and relaxed restaurant environment which embraces and works within the traditional seaside surroundings that it is in. The look-and-feel of the restaurant was vital to ensuring local support, whilst creating a unique offering that appeals to a wide customer base. The design provided by Paramount Interiors has surpassed our expectations and we have already received hundreds of positive reviews from our customers.
