S3 Advertising Office Design & Fit Out

S3 Advertising wanted to create the UK’s coolest office. But they also wanted a space that stimulated creativity and allowed their 27 members of staff to share ideas. Quirky communal and recreational areas, alongside client-facing zones, would encourage team building and make an impressive first impression.

The initial design, created by interior designer Patrick Abrams from PAC Architecture, needed to be brought to life during the office fit out and transform the space into a functioning workplace. We developed the design, taking into account the practicalities of it being used as a place of work.

Creative quirks & practical solutions

While the more creative elements of the office are bound to be the aspects that stand out most, it’s worth remembering that behind all of this is a workplace that needs to function effectively.

With 56 static desks, 3 hot desks, 3 offices, 2 meeting rooms and a dedicated video production room, access to data and power had to be taken into consideration. One large workstation gave S3 the ability to add more people as and when the business grew.

Lighting was adjusted to match requirements and mechanical elements needed to be re-worked around lighting ducts. Tiles were fitted on the raised access floor, wood flooring was installed and bespoke carpentry was created in the kitchen area. Last but by no means least, a Sonos sound system was fitted throughout the office to give probably the coolest office in the UK a suitably impressive soundtrack.

Moving into One Central Square was the biggest decision made in the company’s history. We knew what we wanted to achieve in terms of feel and design but we needed a fit-out company who understood our needs. Most importantly, we needed someone we could work with on a personal level, and that came in the form of Richard Jones, Paramount’s Projects Director.

After numerous meetings with contractors, it was frightening the number of decisions that had to be made. The reason I chose to work with Paramount was the fact that I felt no job would be too big or small. If you asked them to do something, they’d already thought of it and were on it.

Paramount were on my level, very reassuring and gave me total confidence in their ability to deliver what to me was a huge job. They made it seamless and manageable. Would I use them again? In a heartbeat.
