Life Sciences Hub Fit Out & Furniture

With a target of over £1billion of extra revenues by 2022 and being identified as one of the key economic sectors by the Welsh Government, the Life Sciences Hub, Cardiff Bay is a key part of this strategy.

Paramount were appointed by the Welsh Government after a six-way formal tender process to design, build and install an amazing 1,190sqm space in central Cardiff. As a focal point for the sector in Wales, it needed to stimulate interaction, innovation, networking and collaboration, as well as facilitating jobs and blue chip investment, delivering a multitude of challenging design and planning objectives.

Features

The Hub logo features on a preserved moss wall alongside silver birch timbers in the reception area. Sitting in the heart of the reception is a polished acrylic stone HI-MACS® Toffee Brown welcome desk manufactured by LG Hauseys. A slot window gives the CEO’s office behind the feature wall a view of the reception area. Acoustic clouds on the ceiling symbolising ‘blood cells’ and large wall graphics of cell structures and other scientific imagery, continue the theme of science and nature. A Silestone walkway or timeline connects all of the spaces with projected images and messages along its length.

TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE LIFE SCIENCES HUB

Project Duration: 14 weeks
Contract Value: Undisclosed
Floor Area: 1,190 m2

It has been my absolute pleasure to work alongside Paramount to bring the iconic Life Sciences Hub at Cardiff Bay to reality. The project has grown from concept to delivery in a remarkable space of time and was finished on time, on budget and to an incredibly high standard. Paramount’s headline slogan of ‘Optimising Space’ could not be more appropriate – that is exactly what they have done, in a first class, efficient, professional and interactive manner. All 150 VIP guests at our launch were blown away by the quality of the project. They are a delight to work with and I can only commend them in the highest possible terms.
