We’re proud to announce some rather good news.
Last night, our office fit out for Life Sciences Hub Wales won the Best Fit Out of a Workplace in South West England, Thames Valley and South Wales at the annual British Council for Offices’ regional property sector awards.
The Life Sciences Hub Wales’ offices at 3 Assembly Square in Cardiff Bay had already featured in an article highlighting the coolest offices in Wales. In a new piece today (May 15th, 2015), Wales Online also reported about our win.
Nearly every element in the fit out was a unique, not-off-the-shelf solution, meaning that we had to source bespoke and previously unused materials, including the preserved moss wall and silver birch timbers in the reception area, and use different processes to achieve the high standards that were required. You can find out more about the project in our Life Sciences case study.
Jon Foster, Senior Designer on the project said, “It was a challenging but rewarding project. Conceptually, we needed to create an interactive and collaborative environment, showcasing what the centre was all about.
“We have a history of working in 3 Assembly Square, having fitted out every floor of the building previously and winning an award for our fit out of the KPMG offices on the top floor. The project with the Life Sciences Hub proved to be an enjoyable and successful working relationship, which continues to this day.”
On the winners page of the BCO website, they commented that, “The impressive fit out, provides a range of functional spaces within a high quality and attractive work environment. The design makes effective use of the existing building systems and well considered incorporation of IT, collaboration and flexibility.”
The judges also recognised the effective use of the building’s existing structure, and the range of functional spaces it offered, from flexible work settings, to meeting rooms and seminar spaces.
Richard Kauntze, chief executive of the BCO, said: “We are delighted to see this unique Cardiff workplace recognised as the best fit out in the region, especially due to its thoughtful design which is intended to meet the needs of multiple occupiers, now and for the future.”
And to say that we are happy would be an understatement!
