Paramount People: A Day in the Life of Madison Osborne
Our people are important to us.
Luckily, our clients tell us that they’re important to them too.
So we thought we’d take a closer look at a few Paramount people and find out how they’ve been helping businesses with their office design and office fit-out projects.
In this edition, we’re following Madison to give us an insight into the day in the life of a Junior Designer.

What do you do at Paramount?
My role at Paramount is to assist the design team with design concepts, layouts, and create 3D visuals. I also assist our M&E Director with electrical layouts.
Talk us through a recent day: How did it start?
Everyone knows how hard Monday mornings are, which is why at Paramount, we try and make our Mondays fun, to set a great tone for the rest of the week!
As a design team, we gather on a Monday morning and do a ‘Design Challenge’.
Each week we take it in turns to give each other a silly brief to get us thinking outside of the box first thing on a Monday.
My favourite challenge so far was designing a dream garden for myself; it‘s fun to just doodle for 10 minutes!
This week, I set everyone a silly doodling challenge, where they had to doodle what I said in 60 seconds, it had us all laughing, which was great.

After our Design Challenge we then had a meeting to discuss our upcoming week, and the projects we’ll be currently working on.
What projects did you work on?
I am currently working alongside Jon our Design Manager, on a really exciting project designing a showroom for a garden room manufacturer.
We’ve played with the idea of bringing the outdoors inside with biophilic design. It’s been a great challenge and is also a lot of fun to design.
What was the highlight of the day?
Our design challenges are my highlight on a Monday morning.
Generally, I just enjoy receiving feedback from our clients on projects I am working on.
I love the process of working on a design and developing it to answer the clients’ needs, it’s exciting seeing the project moving into the next stages.
What’s been your proudest moment at Paramount?
As I have only been at Paramount for a little over 2 months, I haven’t worked on a project through to completion.
I think my proudest moment at Paramount so far has been an initial email from a client giving their feedback on a concept that Stevie and I worked on. It’s such a fun project, and I can’t wait to see it develop.

Tell us something we might not know about you.
I started getting interested in Interior Design and Architecture when I was about 9 because of the Sims.
I had the newest Sims for my PS2 for a few years, I loved it. I used to spend hours, and I mean HOURS, designing my perfect home.
I eventually wanted to design buildings outside of the constraints of my game, so I then downloaded Google Sketchup and began measuring my bedroom.
Eventually, I measured my entire house to model it on there.
I may have been the youngest surveyor around, who knows?
Who would play you in Paramount: The Movie?

This started some funny conversations in our team!
I eventually decided I would like to have Emma Stone portray me, although she would have to somehow shrink a little.
