Clerkenwell Design Week 2019 Highlights: Part 1 – Rhiannon’s blog
Every year, our sales and workplace design teams make the annual trip to the streets of EC1 and the always-inspiring Clerkenwell Design Week.
As ever, we’ve asked our Paramount People to share their highlights of CDW 2019 and a few of the office design trends that we can expect to see.
Here’s what our Project Designer, Rhiannon thought.
Rhiannon’s CDW 2019 Highlights
After having to miss last year’s event due to other commitments, I was thrilled to be attending Clerkenwell Design Week 2019.
The event always has such a good buzz and gives you the chance to network in a fun environment.
This year was no exception, with some inspiring suppliers, products and events.
Solitude, stationery and snacks
One of my favourites was Frovi’s invite-only event where they showcased a brand new range of products. Being a fan of the company, I was super excited to see what they had to offer.
Amongst the new seating, there were wireframe pods, each with their own look and purpose.
Their Moroccan-style breakout space was a small haven of solitude, with the combination of dim lighting, greenery and stools creating a peaceful zone for relaxation and contemplation.
Alongside the new products, Frovi provided quirky patchwork bags with branded stationery and they also put on a good spread.
Since stationery and food are amongst my favourite things, it was safe to say that I was in my element!
The writing’s on the wall
A trend that seemed to appear throughout the showrooms was neon lighting. Connection, whose furniture we used in our Cardiff University fit-out project, was one of the many that brought this into their space.
I think it goes to show that workspaces are becoming more vibrant, fun places to be.
Offices are moving away from more traditional surroundings and are starting to really embrace design-led ideas.
One of the main highlights for me is catching up with suppliers and fellow designers.
It’s a great social event and helps you keep updated with current trends, as well as discover new styles and looks.
Clerkenwell Design Week 2019 was another fantastic experience and all I can say is, bring on Clerkenwell Design Week 2020!
