Looking back: Our review of 2018
The tree is up and the Christmas jumpers are out.
While we munch on mince pies and prepare for the big day, it’s time to look back at a year with plenty of highlights for the team at Paramount.
We’ve worked on some fantastic office design projects, shared some of our expertise through our blogs and announced some pretty big news.
So here’s our review of 2018 (complete with festive alliteration)…
As always, we began the year with a few trend predictions from the design team, including nature in the workplace, tactile design and virtual reality.
One of the highlights of the year for us is Clerkenwell Design Week.
Back in May, our sales and design teams put together a three-part series of blogs with their highlights from this year’s event.
Find out more in Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.
We also looked at:
2018 saw us work on some outstanding office fit-out and design projects, including;
Across the year, we introduced you to a few of our hard-working and exceptionally-active Paramount People.
Our Commercial Manager, Gary Hobbs shared his highlights, proudest moment and told us what connects him with the SAS!
You can also find out about the golfing prowess of our Business Development Manager, Paul Doherty, and discover who he thinks would play him in Paramount: The Movie.
Emma Thomas, our financial controller, talked us through a typical day at Paramount and shared a detail about herself that she described as “the most rewarding and body-bruising thing” she has ever done!
We’ve also started a series of blogs where we focus on how our staff stay healthy and active.
Rachel from our design team shared her passion for horses and John “The Aging Bull” Williams told us more about his penchant for pugilism.
Every year we work with the interior design students from the University of South Wales on their second-year project.
As ever, the quality of concepts and presentations was exceptional. So much so that we offered one of the students, Amy Hart, our annual Paramount work placement. Amy shared some of her thoughts in a blog about after her first few weeks in the business.
An Exceptional Event
For the second year running, we partnered with Edge Design to host Design Assembly South Wales 2018: The Connected Workplace.
With presentations from Dyson’s Neil Solanki, Flavie Lowres from BRE, Jeremy Palmer from Honeywell and a pattern workshop by Patternistas, it was another great day of commercial-interiors insight and we look forward to bringing more events like this to Cardiff in 2019 and beyond.
A Momentous MBO
Despite everything that we’ve achieved over the last 12 months, there was a clear winner for the highlight of the year.
In July we were enormously pleased to announce that our MD, Richard Jones, had completed a management buyout process and was the proud owner of Paramount Interiors.
That’s more than enough nostalgia for now. Time to look forward to a festive break with families and friends before it all starts again in 2019.
Until then, have a very merry Christmas and a fabulous New Year from all the team at Paramount Interiors.
