Where We Came From

In 1989we were just a twinkle in the eye of Nigel Roberts, our founder and MD. He saw an opportunity to join forces with an established furniture manufacturer and set up a new company, all he needed was a name. Inspired by the location where the business plan was first drafted Nigel named it after his holiday cottage in Devon, and Paramount Interiors was born.

A year later we partnered with Haworth, the world’s second largest furniture manufacturer and, as the nineties turned into the new millennium, we began to grow. Paramount could now offer the full package, from design to fit-out, for clients looking to refurbish their offices or move into new premises. Throughout the “noughties” we were transformed from a welsh company into a national company headquartered in Wales.

In 2012 it was the right time to take things to the next level. Partnered with Steelcase from America, the world’s largest furniture manufacturer, and Kinnarps from Sweden, Europe’s largest furniture manufacturer, we created Summers House, our stunning ShowOffice in Cardiff. Part working office and part gallery space it perfectly showcases our commitment to keeping at the forefront of office design so that we can continue to create workplaces for the future.
